Malaysia Maid Requirements
1. To obtain permission for an Indonesian maid to work in Malaysia, either the employer or a registered Indonesian labour agency must submit the necessary documents to the Malaysian Department of Immigration.
2. Employers are only eligible to hire an Indonesian maid if they have an ill parent or a child who requires care and supervision.
3. Only one maid per family can be hired, and the employer's partner must be employed.
4. Indonesian maids must hold Indonesian citizenship.
5. Employers must agree to pay their Indonesian maid a minimum of RM 3000 in salary.
6. Indonesian maids need a visa with referral to enter Malaysia, which they can obtain in their home country.
7. The temporary employment permit for Indonesian maids must be processed by the Malaysian State Department of Immigration within one month of their arrival.
8. Indonesian maids are not allowed to marry Malaysian or Indonesian workers employed in Malaysia.
9. Indonesian maids should avoid participating in activities that go against local customs and should be mindful of inappropriate behavior.
10. Employers should apply for an extension of the temporary work permit three months before its expiration.
11. Indonesian maids are not allowed to switch jobs or employers.
12. Non-Muslim employers must provide suitable accommodations for their Muslim Indonesian maids and refrain from requesting tasks that are not allowed in Islam.
13. Indonesian maids can stay in Malaysia for up to 12 months with a Multiple Entry Visa.
14. Employers must inform the Malaysian Department of Immigration if their Indonesian maid resigns, is fired, goes missing, or absconds.
15. Employers are responsible for returning maids who are terminated, released, or whose passports have expired or been canceled to their home country.
16. The Malaysian Department of Immigration has the authority to cancel passports and clearances that have been granted.
17. Indonesian maids cannot apply for entry permits while holding a temporary work permit.
